Gentle Pet Passages provides compassionate in-home pet euthanasia and end-of-life support for families in San Antonio and surrounding communities. Saying goodbye to a beloved dog or cat is never easy, and the team understands how emotional and difficult this decision can be. Their goal is to help families provide their pets with a peaceful, comfortable, and dignified final passage in the familiar surroundings of home.
Led by Dr. Jerrod Killian, a retired U.S. Army veterinarian, Gentle Pet Passages was created from a personal understanding of the bond between pets and their families. The service focuses on compassionate care, quality-of-life guidance, and helping families make informed decisions during their pet’s final stage of life.
When pet owners are unsure whether it is the right time to consider euthanasia, Gentle Pet Passages offers virtual quality-of-life consultations. Veterinarians can discuss the pet’s current condition through a video consultation or phone call, review available veterinary records, listen to the family’s concerns, and consider important quality-of-life factors such as appetite, mobility, comfort, sleep, activity, and overall happiness.
These conversations are designed to provide guidance without judgment. The team can help families understand changes in their pet’s quality of life and discuss options for moving forward. Because Texas law limits what can be diagnosed, treated, or prescribed without an in-person physical examination, families seeking diagnosis or treatment are advised to continue working with their full-service veterinarian.
