Nobody wakes up excited to hunt Mole Rats in Fallout 76. They're the kind of enemy that shows up the second you're lining up a clean shot, then vanishes underground like it's doing you a favor. Still, if you're chasing meat, hides, or that annoying daily, you end up doing it anyway. If you'd rather spend your playtime actually progressing, or even purchase fallout 76 boosting to skip some of the grind, having a repeatable route makes the whole thing less of a chore.

Start Easy at Morgantown Trainyard

Morgantown Trainyard is my go-to when I want a quick, low-drama loop. It's early-game friendly, and the layout works with you instead of against you. Check around the parked cars first, then swing through the warehouses. You'll usually hear the little squeals before you see anything, and that's your cue to slow down and watch the ground. They're not especially tough here, so you can clear the spawns without chewing through stimpaks, then fast travel out and keep your session moving.

High Volume in the Watoga Subway

If you want numbers, the Watoga subway system delivers. It's cramped, it's dark, and it's the kind of place where you think you're safe for half a second and then you're getting nipped from three angles. The spawn rate makes it worth it, though. Bring something that doesn't punish you for bad visibility—shotguns, wide-swing melee, anything that's forgiving when they pop up close. Don't overcommit down a tunnel, either. Back up into a wider section, let them come to you, and you'll rack up XP fast.

A Quiet Run at the Abandoned Mine Near Grafton

When servers are busy and you're tired of racing other players for kills, the abandoned mine near Grafton is a nice change. It feels more like a short dungeon: tunnels, corners, the occasional "where am I even standing?" moment. That's the catch—radiation and environmental hazards can sneak up on you while you're looting. Keep moving, watch your feet, and don't get greedy on a single pile of junk. It's slower than Watoga, but you get space and consistency.

Make Them Come to You

The biggest mistake I see is people trying to snipe Mole Rats like they're targets on a range. You shoot, they burrow, you waste ammo, and now you're annoyed. Wait for the pop-up, then smack them or burst them down up close. If you find a nest, don't rush to destroy it—farm a few extra spawns first, then finish it when you're ready to move on. And if you're trying to stock up on supplies without spending all night doing laps, it's the same reason folks use eznpc for items and currency: less downtime, more actual playing.
