U4GM Explains ARC Raiders Heavy Weapon Choices
A heavy-weapon upgrade changes more than the number on a damage screen. It changes how you move through a run, when you pick a fight, and how nervous you feel with a small stack of Heavy Ammo left. If you are deciding where to spend your ARC Raiders BluePrints, Anvil IV and Bettina IV deserve a closer look because they ask for very different habits. Anvil is built around deliberate shots and quick punishment. Bettina gives you a steadier stream of fire when a fight gets messy. Neither is a bad investment, but upgrading the wrong one first can leave you carrying a weapon that does not fit the way you actually play.
What Anvil IV Brings to a Fight
Anvil IV is the choice for players who are happy to slow down for half a second and make a shot count. It behaves more like a heavy hand cannon than a conventional rifle. You peek, line up the target, fire, then decide whether to push or fall back. That rhythm feels great in PvP, especially when you catch another Raider crossing open ground or looting with their guard down. A clean hit can swing the whole encounter before the other player has time to settle in. The Tier IV version matters because its improved firing pace makes missed opportunities less painful. You are still not spraying rounds, but follow-up shots arrive fast enough to keep pressure on an opponent. It also has a practical advantage during long expeditions: fewer rounds are usually needed per kill. Players who tend to carry limited ammo will notice that straight away. The catch is obvious, though. Miss a few shots under pressure and Anvil can feel unforgiving. It asks for aim, cover discipline, and a bit of patience.
Where Bettina IV Feels Better
Bettina IV solves a different problem. Sometimes you do not get a tidy duel from behind a wall. You get several ARC units closing in, teammates calling targets, and nowhere comfortable to reset. That is when an automatic heavy rifle starts to make sense. Bettina lets you keep firing, adjust your aim, and hold a lane while the rest of the squad moves. At medium range, controlled bursts are usually the sweet spot. Full-auto fire is there when you need it, but holding the trigger for too long can burn through Heavy Ammo faster than you would like. Its larger magazine also gives it a forgiving feel. You can correct a missed opening burst instead of being forced to duck away after every shot. For players who spend most of their time in PvE, particularly against tougher armored targets, Bettina may be the more comfortable daily weapon. It is less about landing one huge moment and more about staying useful for the whole fight.
Pick for Your Usual Runs, Not the Hype
A lot of players upgrade Anvil first because its damage is easy to notice. Big hits are memorable. Still, the better question is what happens in your average match. If you often roam alone, set up ambushes, and trust yourself to hit weak spots, Anvil IV will probably pay for itself sooner. It works well for a player who likes to take two shots, reposition, then force the enemy to guess where the next one is coming from. If you mostly queue with friends and end up dealing with crowded PvE encounters, Bettina IV can bring more value. One teammate can draw attention while you keep sustained fire on priority targets. Think about your backup weapon too. Anvil pairs nicely with something fast for close-range panic situations. Bettina can cover more general fighting on its own, though its ammo appetite means you should not treat every small target as worth a heavy magazine.
Spend Materials Without Boxing Yourself In
Tier IV upgrades are not cheap, so splitting resources across both weapons early is usually a rough deal. You end up with two partly finished tools instead of one weapon you can depend on. Choose one, use it for several runs, and pay attention to the moments where it lets you down. Were you short on bullets? Did targets survive because your shots were not landing? Were you constantly overwhelmed while reloading? Those answers point to the weapon you need. Anvil is often the safer first upgrade for confident shooters because it gets strong results with less ammunition. Bettina is worth prioritising when your regular group needs someone to maintain fire and clear threats without long pauses. Keep some coins and rare components aside as well. A new build, repair costs, or a useful attachment can matter more than rushing a second heavy weapon upgrade.
Final Thoughts
Anvil IV is usually the first pick for sharp aim, PvP pressure, and careful ammo use, while Bettina IV earns its place through reliable automatic fire and longer PvE engagements. There is no point forcing yourself into the popular option if it makes every encounter feel awkward. Before you buy ARC Raiders Station upgrades or commit more materials, take both weapons into the kinds of runs you actually enjoy. The right heavy weapon is the one you will trust when the extraction point is close, your ammo is low, and a fight suddenly starts.
